Bar Harbor's Nightlife Fits Inside Four Blocks
Bar Harbor's Nightlife Fits Inside Four Blocks
You're not in Bar Harbor for pulsing clubs, and the town knows it. Nightlife here means a handful of good bars along Main Street, Cottage Street, and Rodick — all walkable from anywhere in the village — and they're better for it.
Leary's Landing does the Irish pub thing without ironic quotation marks around it — stools full by nine, Guinness pulled right, a fiddle player in the corner some nights. Side Street Cafe shifts from dinner to a louder drinks crowd as the evening runs. For cocktails with some ambition, Havana mixes classic Cuban-influenced drinks and the bar stays open long after the dinner service winds down.
Summer weekends, the place pops until around midnight and then everybody goes home. Off-season, last call can come at ten. Check hours before you head out.
